There is so much to do in the Central Texas area and Walnut Canyon is surrounded by attractions. There is awesome rafting and tubing along the Guadalupe River. Canyon Lake offers boating, skiing and fishing and has many parks controlled by the Army Corps of Engineers. There are also hike and bike trails around the lake. 
The area around Walnut Canyon RV Park and Canyon Lake is surrounded with breath taking scenery and an abundance of wildlife so there are plenty of places to just sit back, relax, and just enjoy nature. For those of you who like to shop there is plenty of shopping and Antiquing in New Braunfels and Gruene, a short trip to the San Marcos outlet malls, and some interesting shops around the lake as well.
